1.5 New Announcements...
Hello naturally alive, digitally-overwhelmed, joy-longing...humans!
Jasmine Rae here, on behalf of Cake Circle...
Announcement 1: I was interviewed recently on the Cake Therapy Podcast ...talking about perspectives on the cake industry, and the people who work in it. You can actually listen to this episode on your Amazon Alexa, or watch it here on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa1Rkv-CzyE
If you're curious, the episode I did from Season 1 (more about the creative process) is also available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjSwSXqMBSU
Announcement 1.5...the BIGGER announcement: Cake Circle is looking into becoming a non-profit organization! There are many reasons for this, but ultimately, it's because we want to truly be an all-encompassing industry advocacy group. This is only half of an announcement because the plan is not fully baked (see what I did there). However, as we are researching what this would all mean and look like, we wanted to put out the call for resources or any directions from our community on trees to bark up, alleys to explore, and roads to travel. Please email us back with your thoughts/advice/ideas...
RECENT EVENTS:
Thao Armstrong, of Don't Tell Charles, gave us a peek of her "mess" as she calls it, in two recent events.
Jessica Reed, The Cake Historian, gave us a 25 minute rundown of the history of the modern cake, dating back a few thousand years! One kooky thing I learned is that many examples of early celebration cakes were merely for display! Ahh, how it all comes...full circle...
You can watch these, plus every recorded event we've done, with a Day Pass, for $9: https://www.cakecircle.com/offers/Fi7dDPVr/checkout
The full Cake Circle membership is $33/month. You can join here: https://www.cakecircle.com/community
(Note to the community: We recognize that Wedding/Event season is upon us in the Northern hemisphere! You can attend, hands in the batter, camera off, or even just listen to the recordings later in your spare time. Remember, even 1 event a week is more than worth the membership. Co-Caking, Fridays 7-10am ET is a low-lift way to stay connected. Also, The Conversation is always there for you if you just need to throw something out there into a safe space at 2am when you're kicking yourself for accepting one too many cakes this week.)
